Project overview
SharePoint Client App is a huge and extremely flexible desktop client for SharePoint developed by Abto Software specialists for our Swiss customer providing various IT services, including development of software based on SharePoint and Extensions.
Our customer’s users were working with tasks within the SharePoint 2010 web app. Having received lots of requests about an offline (synched) application on Windows, our customer decided to meet users’ wishes and addressed Abto Software to develop an application to work with tasks and activities outside SharePoint.
The solution
Our specialists successfully created a very customizable application SharePoint Client which allows configuring the whole workflow with various SharePoint lists. Among its features are:
- Synchronizing of the date to a local desktop app, so a user can work with local speed
- Customizable SharePoint 2010 client
- Configure application: lists, views (Customizable synchronizing of a number of lists from SharePoint connecting Tasks with activities and related lists, Opportunities with activities and related lists, Projects with tasks, activities and documents, etc.)
- Synchronizing data using Microsoft Sync framework.
As a part of this application, our developers also configured Task Management App to meet our customer’s needs in the app with the offline ability.
