Abto Software has joined to design a custom mood board generation platform with advanced AI functionality. By leveraging domain knowledge and experience, our team successfully delivered a solution, which integrates AI features, ChatGPT capabilities, and Google Image Search, empowering designers in their routine workflows.
Main goals
The client’s key objective – to optimize a creative’s routine workflow by providing a feature-rich AI platform. The solution is tailored for designers to organize their visuals, amplify efficiency, if compared to traditionally manual processes, and, accordingly, magnify creativity.
In addition, by providing this platform as a SaaS product, the client can also:

Enabling professional project curation using different search criteria, visual styles, color schemes, and concepts, the solution instantly provides more control over content, naturally offering more meaningful creative output. The integrated ChatGPT capabilities provide advanced, intelligent assistance, helping achieve desired results.
How the solution works
Getting started, you have to name the new mood board and choose the layout out of the suggested.
You can either upload pre-saved images or search matching visuals by text or image:
- To find a match by text, use the search bar
- To find your match by image you have already used, just click on the overflow menu on the said image and then on Show similar images
You can utilize integrated AI capabilities to generate image suggestions:
- By filling one tile in turn – just click on the empty tile
- By filling all tiles at once – simply click on Generate
You can repeatedly regenerate the suggestions until satisfied.
You can leverage integrated ChatGPT capabilities to influence image suggestions by describing desired output:
1. Pull the ChatGPT trigger in the right corner
2. Click the corresponding icon on a specific tile
3. Write down your influence in the pop-out window
4. Click the Generate button
And again, you can repeatedly regenerate the suggestions until happy with your final result.

Main challenges
Delivering configurable AI algorithm
When working on the mood board generation platform, we focused on the following features:
- Image search by text or image
- Visuals creation based on internal image database or Google Image Search
- Mood board generation following color schemes
- Mood board generation following provided concepts or specific visual style
The goals we’ve set were challenging due to the diversity and complexity of the visual content accessible today. To meet the client’s business objectives, the model had to accurately process textual and visual information, interpret abstract concepts, understand color relationships, and more.
To resolve this challenge, we involved skilled engineers possessing expertise in applying advanced techniques – computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, semantic and color analysis.
To date, the product can understand user preferences, identify trends, extract information while processing creative content, and, accordingly, assist designers, creatives, directors, and others dealing with visual content.
Filling initial image database
To ensure the ability to create meaningful content while considering different requirements and preferences, we had to populate a collection of images all-round covering various styles, color schemes, as well as concepts. This challenge involved sourcing, accurately organizing, and indexing the images by using artificial intelligence.
Building robust cloud infrastructure to support future scaling
To handle dynamically increasing computational needs, we had to implement a reliable cloud infrastructure. This challenge involved covering important processes from design to networking component configuration, backup and recovery planning, load balancing, and security.
