Abto Software’s educational initiatives in 2019 and 2020
At Abto Software we believe in sharing our knowledge and expertise with the community. Our experts engage in numerous educative activities both within and outside the company to teach others the skills relevant for our digital age. With countless ideas for future educational programs that we are excited to launch in 2020, we look back at the year behind us to reflect on what we accomplished in 2019.
Tech Talks, Meetups, and Knowledge Sharing Culture
We started in 2019 by partnering with Lviv .NET Community and organizing a meetup to share our experience with Microsoft stack developers. At the event called “Learn to fail, fail to learn” we talked about the benefits of failure and how to learn from mistakes.
We also organized in-company tech talks and workshops. This way, we encouraged our colleagues to deep-dive into what they are passionate about and inspire to broaden their horizons. What’s more, we had the opportunity to talk about current technology trends. We learned how to pass Microsoft certification and explored the ways to give and collect employee feedback.
Establishing Partnership with National University of Lviv
Supporting Programming Contests
In April Abto Software has co-sponsored the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. More than 30 teams were competing for 5 hours to solve 12 algorithmic programming tasks. We have awarded the winners with corporate gifts and invited them to apply for our 2019 Artificial Intelligence & Computer Vision Summer Camp.
Opening Computer Vision & AI Lab at Lviv University
In October Abto Software established an official partnership with the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv by opening a Computer Vision & AI Lab at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics. The laboratory is equipped for 13 students and we have already conducted a workshop on object detection with TensorFlow 2.0 in our new space at the university.
What’s Next
Now more than a couple of weeks into 2020, we are looking ahead to launch even more educational programs. Our teams are keen on promoting computer sciences to students, software engineers, and everyone who’s interested in cutting-edge technology.
We are very delighted to announce the begin of our annual series of lectures from our R&D specialists. These start on the 19th February 2020 and will be held in our AI/CV lab at the Lviv University.
